Repentance Park
Repentance Park's redesign is a vision from Baton Rouge’s Riverfront Master Plan and Plan BR II. With the desire to connect public open spaces in downtown Baton Rouge, this site was key because of its proximity to many civic, cultural, municipal and entertainment venues. Our team, in collaboration with Reed Hilderbrand, recognized the site’s vital location and dynamic grade changes as opportunities for creative design solutions. The new park encourages pedestrian activity and access throughout major downtown locations and provides much-needed spaces for programming. The park’s success was a collaborative effort of the landscape architects working to solidify community consensus and to manage a team of experts in cultural landscape history, civil and structure engineering, as well as soils and fountain design.
